That is why we are very proud to announce that moods-hotel.de has now officially been awarded the renowned GreenSign Hotel Certificate. This internationally recognized seal stands for transparent and verified sustainability standards in the hotel industry and confirms our commitment to responsible resource management, social responsibility, and future-oriented development.
About GreenSign for Hotels
The GreenSign Hotel Certification is awarded by the GreenSign Institute in Berlin to create transparency regarding sustainability. It is a certification catalog for determining a hotel’s level of sustainability and is recognized by the globally renowned Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
To receive the GreenSign Hotel Certification, a hotel must first complete the comprehensive requirements catalog. This includes more than 130 criteria, divided into ten core areas. The evaluation program is practice-oriented and based on high standards such as EMAS, DIN ISO 14001, ISO 26000, and the SDGs. In addition to ecological sustainability, social, cultural, and economic aspects are also assessed. Alongside self-evaluation in a digital tool, hotels are required to create an environmental program that defines concrete development goals. The information provided is then reviewed by GreenSign experts, followed by an on-site audit in which all data is thoroughly examined.
Once completed, the hotel’s sustainability performance is transparently presented both overall and in each core area based on the degree of conformity. The conformity level ranges from a minimum of 50% to a maximum of 100%. The GreenSign widget clearly displays this score, which is also shown on the certificate valid for three years. Worldwide, more than 900 companies in 19 countries are GreenSign certified (as of November 2024).
